If this is correct, the answer to your question is YES, there are replacement controls for old motors. If I understand your question, and I am not certain that I do, the control arm that you are referring to here is the helm control for shifting and throttling. Does anyone know if there is a replacement arm that would have the trim in it for old style omc controls or if my idea to splice is reasonable? Most whaler owners I have talked to have said you have to play with the trim to make the boat perform well under varying conditions and the only trim I have right now is on the motor. I am currently waiting on a new helm and trying to spend the waiting time on the other parts of the project. For one reason or another my project still hasn't hit the water. I am wondering if there is any way to just splice in a toggle switch to the trim plug on the motor.
